2nd day at her preschool

Fall means change

Brooke is going to a different preschool this school year.  She misses her friends from Oxford, but she is meeting a lot of friends at her new school, Anna Mae Burdi.  The BEST part of her day is that she does not have to take a nap!!!  She is still struggling with transitions, but we have accepted it as part of her personality and we are trying to leave it in God's hands.  I will be honest it is very hard and stressful.  She yells at me and kicks and cries that she does not want to leave.  It is difficult to stay calm, but I don't have much of a choice.  Anyone reading this, please pray for both of us!  I am hoping she will get better at this soon. Here is another picture from my phone on the first day of school.

We haven't taken Brooke to Comerica Park for a game yet.  One day we will, but for now GO TIGERS!  They are having a great season so far!

NEVER will forget!

Can't believe it's been 10 years! Do you remember where you were??  I was at work, teaching 1st grade at Mohawk Elementary.  I remember the teacher next door coming into my classroom and telling me about the plane crashing and then I just stood there in disbelief!!!  When I got home that evening I was glued to the tv and I just cried and cried and cried.

USA is the best!  (Here is Brooke at 2 years old and then 3 years old)

It was fun to see my friend Nicole and her kids.  I used to be roommates with Nicole and we actually met over 10 years ago at BSF (Bible Study Fellowship).  She moved to Chicago with her family and we miss them so much.  They came "home" to their parent's house in Michigan, so we stopped over to visit while they were here.

So excited to get her haircut--- a new style!!!   I take her to a family's house from my school.  I have had 3 of her 4 children in my class.  Here is Bella (she was in my class last year) on the left. Mia who is 3 years old, not quite ready for 1st grade yet, is standing on the right!
